New term, new stories.

After a bit of a break, term 4 at The Craft Group has started up again.
It was SO nice to see everyone again, craft in hand, stories to tell.
Love... an embroidered quilt by Wendy. Coming along nicely.

Wendy P was there.
About a month ago her husband passed away.
He had been living in a nursing home for the past 2 years and Wendy said it was his time to go.
But it is super sad for her to have to say goodbye.
He was only in his 70's.
She is continuing to volunteer at the Nursing home because she has spent so much time there in the past and she is such a lovely person with a lot of love and care to share around.

We pray that you will continue to know God as your real, everyday Comforter Wendy!
We are so pleased you had the strength and desire to come along to "craft" yesterday.

Mini Christmas crocheted stockings by Mandy - Free Pattern

These cute little Christmas stockings were made by Mandy. There was no real pattern to follow so we worked it out easily enough by sharing crochet know how and made little stocking decorations until they were everywhere. Wil and Bev G made a heap! Here are some pictures and a pattern! A pentagon granny square folded in half to make a little stocking. Make them in whatever colour you like! Add some sparkle :) or a bell on the toe! Lantern making... a craft for kids

The school holidays are nearly over. Some kids have one more week. Why not get creative and make some pretty lanterns to hang in your bedroom? (Caitlin and Ryan... if you make one and take a photo, I'll put it on the blog!) A teacher at school made these with her grade 3 class.  I was the photographer, so I captured the pictorial step-by-step instructions.

Mitred Granny Squares by Janice

A project a day! I have so many photos of lovely things which have not yet appeared here on the blog. So, I am featuring a new craft item every day for 2 weeks, all made by ladies at The Craft Group. To continue… Project 5: Mitred Granny Squares by Janice Crocheted Granny Squares are in again and, as with all come-backs, there are clever variations. These mitred* squares are eye catching and can look stunning depending on the colours used. Janice made this green one which has a lovely 3D effect made by her use of various tones of graduating greens. It looks stunning in a whole finished rug. (*also spelt 'Mitered', depending on where you live).  Janice is then working on some other squares using bright coloured stripes, giving the finished product a completely different look.
