Friday Wrap up - this Week's Highlights

In case you haven't had a chance to come here for a look, here is a summary of what I've added to the blog this week.

I added a search feature. You can type any word (or your name, group members!) into the search box on the right and it will show which posts mention that word or name.

Marion made this soft, quick quilt for her grandchild.

Look at Shirley's team of  Trauma Teddies which she makes for The Red Cross!

Did you see this amazing little 7 year old sing "Jesus Loves Me"?

A new patchwork technique tried out by Elaine and Lorraine. Seminole quilting.

Bev made a great quilt for her grandson.

I made 5 free timber candle sticks.

We pondered the question of are we good enough for God?

I added a photo of the the finished bracelet made by Jodi.

And to finish off the week... if you feel like crocheting something for your child...

    What's wrong with the Shrek ears?

    Haven't been able to make it to Craft group yet this term...sigh...my poor cross stitch is crying out for some attention this term!

    You're right Lis. What's wrong with Shrek ears? I listen to my teenagers too much who say they would have died if I made them wear something like that! If you find a morning for yourself - throw your cross stitch in a bag and come on over. It would be lovely to catch up!

Mini Christmas crocheted stockings by Mandy - Free Pattern

These cute little Christmas stockings were made by Mandy. There was no real pattern to follow so we worked it out easily enough by sharing crochet know how and made little stocking decorations until they were everywhere. Wil and Bev G made a heap! Here are some pictures and a pattern! A pentagon granny square folded in half to make a little stocking. Make them in whatever colour you like! Add some sparkle :) or a bell on the toe! Put a few sweets, a roll of mints or a roll of cold hard cash inside, hang them on the Christmas tree and you will be popular. Click "read more" below for the pattern.

Mitred Granny Squares by Janice

A project a day! I have so many photos of lovely things which have not yet appeared here on the blog. So, I am featuring a new craft item every day for 2 weeks, all made by ladies at The Craft Group. To continue… Project 5: Mitred Granny Squares by Janice Crocheted Granny Squares are in again and, as with all come-backs, there are clever variations. These mitred* squares are eye catching and can look stunning depending on the colours used. Janice made this green one which has a lovely 3D effect made by her use of various tones of graduating greens. It looks stunning in a whole finished rug. (*also spelt 'Mitered', depending on where you live).  Janice is then working on some other squares using bright coloured stripes, giving the finished product a completely different look. Lantern making... a craft for kids

The school holidays are nearly over. Some kids have one more week. Why not get creative and make some pretty lanterns to hang in your bedroom? (Caitlin and Ryan... if you make one and take a photo, I'll put it on the blog!) A teacher at school made these with her grade 3 class.  I was the photographer, so I captured the pictorial step-by-step instructions.
