Happy New Year!

Hi again!
I'm back....
I think.

I have had a great January break. It was a funny sort of break because I spent a lot of time doing what I seem to always have to do... sort. I won't bore you with the details but it was satisfying.

Good old 'Routine' is back. I have a love/hate relationship with Routine. At the moment it is good to be getting back into things again.

The Craft Group is starting up soon, with the Enrolment morning on the 14th Feb and then "week one" on the 21st. I will then be back on track with taking photos of the lovely things people have made and sharing them with you here on this blog.

Speaking of the blog.... hello..... is there anyone there?
I have grand ideas about the blog but then wonder if anyone actually reads it.  Maybe if there is anyone out there you could leave me a comment. Or become a follower. Just so I know if I am typing words into cyber space for nothing!

These cute little Christmas stockings were made by Mandy. There was no real pattern to follow so we worked it out easily enough by sharing crochet know how and made little stocking decorations until they were everywhere. Wil and Bev G made a heap! Here are some pictures and a pattern! A pentagon granny square folded in half to make a little stocking. Make them in whatever colour you like! Add some sparkle :) or a bell on the toe! Lantern making... a craft for kids

The school holidays are nearly over. Some kids have one more week. Why not get creative and make some pretty lanterns to hang in your bedroom? (Caitlin and Ryan... if you make one and take a photo, I'll put it on the blog!) A teacher at school made these with her grade 3 class.  I was the photographer, so I captured the pictorial step-by-step instructions.

Mitred Granny Squares by Janice

A project a day! I have so many photos of lovely things which have not yet appeared here on the blog. So, I am featuring a new craft item every day for 2 weeks, all made by ladies at The Craft Group. To continue… Project 5: Mitred Granny Squares by Janice Crocheted Granny Squares are in again and, as with all come-backs, there are clever variations. These mitred* squares are eye catching and can look stunning depending on the colours used. Janice made this green one which has a lovely 3D effect made by her use of various tones of graduating greens. It looks stunning in a whole finished rug. (*also spelt 'Mitered', depending on where you live).  Janice is then working on some other squares using bright coloured stripes, giving the finished product a completely different look.
