Elly's ladybugs

Image
Lady bugs... or ladybirds are good for your garden. These are good because they are super cute! Elly gets old golf balls from the golf course and cleans them up, undercoats them and paints them into fun creatures for the garden. Then she sells them to raise money to help her daughter-in-law pay for some of her diabetes equipment. This fits in so well with our theme this year! 2019 - RENEW Old golf balls renewed into fun critters for the garden  which create cash for important medical equipment.  So good.

"Making a Posie from shop bought flowers and cuttings from the garden". Floristry Workshop 1 with Nicola

We are always so so thankful to God when someone with a particular gift/flair/passion crosses our path! Enter Nicola! Nicola has come to our area, our church family and to our Craft Group with her lovely family and her amazing creativity. She kindly agreed to running 4 floral workshops this year. We are SO excited. Flowers are beautiful, cheerful, miraculous, soothing, amazing and often... expensive! So our first workshop was about how to make a lovely posie of flowers using a grocery store bunch of flowers with clippings of all sorts of flora from our own garden. We all made a beautiful bunch of flowers definitely worth giving as a gift for only $15. They actually looked a million dollars. (Maybe slight exaggeration.) Tips  from Nicola: * Buy fresh flowers, a mixed bunch is good, ensuring one flower would make a good main focal flower to start with. * Cut the ends of the stems with sharp snips or secateurs at a slight angle. * Go hunting in your garden.
