"Heaven & Earth" by Elaine

Image
Elaine is our lovely Quilting mentor. She is gentle and gracious in sharing her sewing skills and patchwork passion with us all. Elaine had an operation today. Elaine has this past week been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Elaine is feeling the "Peace that passes understanding" that only Jesus can give. She is ready to take on the days ahead knowing God is with her every step of the way. We are praying for you Elaine! It is very special that last week Elaine brought along this special quilt called "Heaven & Earth". It was a Block of the Month. If you are interested in where she bought it from, just put a comment below and I will ask her. She finished it last week and rather than giving it away, she is keeping it for her own bed which is so lovely. A certain little lady couldn't resist wrapping herself in the quilt while we were trying to do our photo shoot!  Boo! Joy! Beautiful quilt Elaine. May it wrap you with ...

Crochet rug by Elaine

Image
Sometimes it is nice to be a bit impulsive. Elaine went into Morris & Sons in Sydney. (50 York St.) Her eye fell upon a lovely crochet rug and she just threw caution to the wind and bought the colours and yarn there and then. No searching for bargains in a cheaper craft store. It was time for some real quality which is sometimes such a breath of fresh air for a crafter. (Or maybe you just feel lighter because your wallet is significantly lighter!) OK, so my measly craft budget at the moment is making me jealous. I love making things from recycled materials or Op Shop finds.... but then I felt this crocheted beauty and I appreciated the sheer luxury of quality yarn. Bamboo. Super soft and flowing and warm. Nice choice Elaine.

Rag Rug by Karin

Karin gets very excited when she finishes a project! Yay for Karin! Here is her latest quick project, made from old recycled Tshirts... Presenting... Karin O's crocheted rag rug. Well done Karin. Have fun making more now that your daughter-in-law has seen it!

Enrolment morning 2015

Image
Enrolment Morning 2015. No craft.  Instead...  meeting up with friends, morning tea, craft display and... PRESENTS! Lots of presents! Gorgeous Cupcakes. Made by Lorraine. Packed by Elzanne. Taste tested by me!  (Well, I had to be helpful!) It is nice to be back. I wonder what we will inspire each other with this year? Lots to see, lots to chat about, lots to share. Have a great crafting year everyone!

Another year of "The Craft Group"

Image
Tomorrow is "Enrolment Morning" at The Craft Group. It will be a lovely morning to catch up again with everyone and find out what people have been up to during the summer holidays. (And give out a little gift to those who come!) After that, our actual craft mornings start again next week on the 12th, and I will have lots of lovely new things to show you and to inspire you with!
