Julianne's 40th Anniversary album

Image
A good scrapbook album… completed... is a wonderful thing. Julianne said it took a few years but her album is a lovely collection of memories of her wedding day and then a few main anniversaries… the latest big one being her 40th. The front cover. Groovy, Julianne. I love it! Lovely dress for a winter wedding. Love the embellishments!  Julianne and John… Happy 44th wedding Anniversary, which, using my highly advanced detective skills and mathematical calculations, I am predicting is coming up next month! Lovely album. You haven't changed a bit!

How old are you?

Image
Today I would like to say... well....  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I have an '0' at the end of my age again and that is a big thing. Leaping into the next decade feels like more of a big deal than just hopping along the years within a decade. Yesterday at "The Craft Group" I did our regular "Thought for the day" spot.  If you are interested in my thoughts and are curious to find out how old I am, you can click below on "read more". I will tell you more about my celebrations and the BEAUTIFUL thoughts and gifts I received in future posts. Fun! Oh, and I might also point out that the photo above is of the beautiful flowers I had in little glass jars on the tables of my party (bought from the flower markets by my lovely niece Sam and her Mum, my sis, Sharon... thanks for getting up at 4 in the morning for me! And the Royal Albert vase is from my sis & bro-in-law Helen and John. Thanks for coming all the way from the sunny north ...

Dating your holiday photos

Image
How are you at storing all your photos? I am way behind at sorting my boxes and boxes of real photos! All of a sudden I realised I am accumulating an identical mess on my computer's digital photo program. AAHHHHH! Here's a little tip which was a great help on my recent trip to Holland. At the start of each day, before I took my first photo, I would take a photo of the date. I was only away for 22 days, so I used a little spiral notebook (the smallest I could find). Before I left, I wrote each days date on the lower right hand corner of each page. Now as I sort my photos, it is easy to see when one days ends and the next begins. I know that info is on the little detail panel of each photo but this is an easy and quick way to see the holiday divided by days. It is also a bit cute to use these photos to show each new day in the holiday photo book.

How to get a lost camera back

Image
In August this year, I lost my little camera. I was annoyed with myself and had no idea where it could be. Months later, someone gave it back to me. She was at a same training weekend I was at and she had given me a lift home. The camera fell out of my bag in her car. She found it a while later and had no idea whose camera it was. She looked at the photos on the camera and boiled it down to someone who was connected to the same soccer team as her boyfriend. My son is in that team! Well, in the end, she asked me if it was mine and my camera and I were happily reunited. I have read other similar stories and quite often people who find cameras are very willing to return them if they know who the owner is (and if they didn't steal it from you in the first place!). So if it happens again that I am silly enough to loose my camera and someone lovely and honest finds it, I will make their job a bit easier. The first photo on my camera is a little message... But I really really ...
