After my knee operation, (after my silly sporting attempt,) I missed 2 weeks of The Craft Group. It was no nice to be back again last Thursday! I couldn't walk around much but it was really nice to see everyone again.
It is so lovely to be part of a community at times when you are not well. My church family delivered some meals and I received lovely cards.
So, thanks for the cards, the well wishes, the hugs, the meals, the prayers and look... Joan brought me a bunch of lavender from her garden. I thought that was so sweet.
It's good to be hobbling around again. I am focussing on patience at the moment. Always a good thing to improve on!


This is taken with my new camera. I have enjoyed trying to learn a bit about how it works!

These cute little Christmas stockings were made by Mandy. There was no real pattern to follow so we worked it out easily enough by sharing crochet know how and made little stocking decorations until they were everywhere. Wil and Bev G made a heap! Here are some pictures and a pattern! A pentagon granny square folded in half to make a little stocking. Make them in whatever colour you like! Add some sparkle :) or a bell on the toe! Lantern making... a craft for kids

The school holidays are nearly over. Some kids have one more week. Why not get creative and make some pretty lanterns to hang in your bedroom? (Caitlin and Ryan... if you make one and take a photo, I'll put it on the blog!) A teacher at school made these with her grade 3 class.  I was the photographer, so I captured the pictorial step-by-step instructions.

Mitred Granny Squares by Janice

A project a day! I have so many photos of lovely things which have not yet appeared here on the blog. So, I am featuring a new craft item every day for 2 weeks, all made by ladies at The Craft Group. To continue… Project 5: Mitred Granny Squares by Janice Crocheted Granny Squares are in again and, as with all come-backs, there are clever variations. These mitred* squares are eye catching and can look stunning depending on the colours used. Janice made this green one which has a lovely 3D effect made by her use of various tones of graduating greens. It looks stunning in a whole finished rug. (*also spelt 'Mitered', depending on where you live).  Janice is then working on some other squares using bright coloured stripes, giving the finished product a completely different look.
