A quilt with a fun twist by Bev

Bev has made a quilt for her little grandson.
How cute is this with all the alphabet blocks. 
(Nice machine quilting Bev).


 There is a fun little 'multi use' aspect to this cute quilt. 
(No, it is not the feet attached to the bottom of the quilt. I guess I should have cropped those feet out!)
Turn the quilt over and you have a chalk board! This is special blackboard fabric you can buy and it really works just like a chalk board and is fully washable.


So the little man can learn to read the alphabet and write it too using just one handy quilt!

These cute little Christmas stockings were made by Mandy. There was no real pattern to follow so we worked it out easily enough by sharing crochet know how and made little stocking decorations until they were everywhere. Wil and Bev G made a heap! A project a day! I have so many photos of lovely things which have not yet appeared here on the blog. So, I am featuring a new craft item every day for 2 weeks, all made by ladies at The Craft Group. To continue… Project 5: Mitred Granny Squares by Janice Crocheted Granny Squares are in again and, as with all come-backs, there are clever variations. These mitred* squares are eye catching and can look stunning depending on the colours used. Janice made this green one which has a lovely 3D effect made by her use of various tones of graduating greens. It looks stunning in a whole finished rug. (*also spelt 'Mitered', depending on where you live).  Janice is then working on some other squares using bright coloured stripes, giving the finished product a completely different look. Lantern making... a craft for kids

The school holidays are nearly over. Some kids have one more week. Why not get creative and make some pretty lanterns to hang in your bedroom? (Caitlin and Ryan... if you make one and take a photo, I'll put it on the blog!) A teacher at school made these with her grade 3 class.  I was the photographer, so I captured the pictorial step-by-step instructions.
