Bag from the Op Shop

It's Saturday. A perfect day to go Op Shop shopping.

At The Craft Group I spotted this pretty handbag. But Bronwyn didn't make it herself, she found it at an 2nd hand Op Shop! What a great find.


Inside it was a note naming the designer and creator of this hand made bag. It says: 
"Christine Talbot. This bag was knitted in linen stitch on size 5 1/2mm needles. Pattern was self designed". I wonder if we will ever find out who Christine Talbot is. Although it would be a bit embarrassing that Bron bought it for $6 and it is worth far more than that!

    I do like my bag and the shop should be full of bargains I haven't been there for a while or better to give others a chance just got to be there

These cute little Christmas stockings were made by Mandy. There was no real pattern to follow so we worked it out easily enough by sharing crochet know how and made little stocking decorations until they were everywhere. Wil and Bev G made a heap! A project a day! I have so many photos of lovely things which have not yet appeared here on the blog. So, I am featuring a new craft item every day for 2 weeks, all made by ladies at The Craft Group. To continue… Project 5: Mitred Granny Squares by Janice Crocheted Granny Squares are in again and, as with all come-backs, there are clever variations. These mitred* squares are eye catching and can look stunning depending on the colours used. Janice made this green one which has a lovely 3D effect made by her use of various tones of graduating greens. It looks stunning in a whole finished rug. (*also spelt 'Mitered', depending on where you live).  Janice is then working on some other squares using bright coloured stripes, giving the finished product a completely different look. Lantern making... a craft for kids

The school holidays are nearly over. Some kids have one more week. Why not get creative and make some pretty lanterns to hang in your bedroom? (Caitlin and Ryan... if you make one and take a photo, I'll put it on the blog!) A teacher at school made these with her grade 3 class.  I was the photographer, so I captured the pictorial step-by-step instructions.
