Vintage doll knitting pattern - Lorraine

It's the long weekend monday today. It is cold, it is drizzly and I am staying inside with the fire on.
Here's a great project which Lorraine is working on. Wouldn't this be a great thing to do sitting by the fire? 

Lorraine is making this for her little granddaughter, Lila who is 2 (going on 4). She has a baby doll she loves to look after.


Now she can dress her doll for the cold weather.
Don't you just love this pattern. It says 25 cents :)

    Now this is beautiful.Are you going to make the undies .I remember an aunt who made a set for one of my dolls complete with pink singlet and pants.keep up the good work

These cute little Christmas stockings were made by Mandy. There was no real pattern to follow so we worked it out easily enough by sharing crochet know how and made little stocking decorations until they were everywhere. Wil and Bev G made a heap! Lantern making... a craft for kids

The school holidays are nearly over. Some kids have one more week. Why not get creative and make some pretty lanterns to hang in your bedroom? (Caitlin and Ryan... if you make one and take a photo, I'll put it on the blog!) A teacher at school made these with her grade 3 class.  I was the photographer, so I captured the pictorial step-by-step instructions.

A project a day! I have so many photos of lovely things which have not yet appeared here on the blog. So, I am featuring a new craft item every day for 2 weeks, all made by ladies at The Craft Group. To continue… Project 5: Mitred Granny Squares by Janice Crocheted Granny Squares are in again and, as with all come-backs, there are clever variations. These mitred* squares are eye catching and can look stunning depending on the colours used. Janice made this green one which has a lovely 3D effect made by her use of various tones of graduating greens. It looks stunning in a whole finished rug. (*also spelt 'Mitered', depending on where you live).  Janice is then working on some other squares using bright coloured stripes, giving the finished product a completely different look.
